First Time Right at Every Presentation
When you make security recommendations to some of the biggest retail chains in the country, there is no room for error. This is how Stefanie Hoover does it.
What is your role at CONTROLTEK?
I’m a Strategic Account Executive. I love to consult with customers about unique problems and then work with my team to put all the pieces together for a solution. From first phone calls to meetings to managing the customer’s needs, my job is different every day!
How do you deliver First Time Right in your work?
Because I balance a portfolio of many different clients and juggle priorities, there is an opportunity to make errors. Each customer requires that I focus on the issue at hand and think through other possible solutions. I’m not afraid to bring a partner along or ask tough questions; my goal is to be an advocate for each of my customers. I take pride in what I do and the “First Time Right” message fits perfectly with how I approach my job.
What’s the favorite part of your job?
It feels good to come through for a customer and make their lives a little easier. I’m always amazed when a customer compliments me on answering my emails and my phone…I thought everyone did that! Also, my team likes to have fun with what we do, and fortunately I get to work with clients who have fun as well. Whether it’s a silly email, a joke on a conference call or getting to know people on a personal level, the way I see it, life is too short to be serious all the time!
What inspires you?
My family. I strive to be a good example for my kids and my husband is always pushing me to be the best version of myself. I guess he sees potential in me ?
Speaking of your family, we understand that you and your husband actually get to work together through one particular industry association…
One of the things I love about my job and about CONTROLTEK is that I get to continue to support two of my passions: IAI and the CFI designation. CONTROLTEK sponsors IAI, Elite Training Day as well as IAI educational webinars throughout the year as a way to give back to the Loss Prevention community. I’m lucky to have a team that is supportive of my volunteer work on the executive board of the IAI Midwest Chapter. As an added bonus, it’s a chance for my husband and me to work together on projects that are meaningful for both of us.
What’s the number one thing you’d like the world to know about CONTROLTEK?
We have the best people! We have been around a long time and have made customers our focus for over four decades. You don’t focus on customers that long without learning a couple things about service and what people want. Our team lives and breathes fanatical service and “First Time Right.”
