First Time Right at Every Campaign
How does a new mom handle baby schedule and marketing campaign schedules all at the same time, all the while ensuring everything is done First Time Right? We asked our Senior Marketing Manager, Kim Scott:
What is your role at CONTROLTEK?
I am a Senior Marketing Manager at CONTROLTEK. I work with a small (but very mighty) team to engage our current and potential customers with our brand. We get the word out about CONTROLTEK via a multitude of marketing initiatives including advertising, direct marketing, our website, social media, tradeshows, and thought leadership, to name a few. It is my role to make sure that our projects are running on track and that our message is consistent across all channels.
How do you deliver First Time Right in your work?
I make sure that every marketing campaign we execute is delivered First Time Right. For example, the Marketing Team partners with our Sales Team to send a quarterly direct mail campaign to potential customers. To ensure it is delivered First Time Right, I create a concise plan and work with the appropriate teams to make sure the mailer is created with a clear message, gets sent out on time and to the right people. What makes it happen First Time Right is everyone working closely together to make sure each campaign is effective and has great impact.
You recently had a baby. How do you manage to juggle the many responsibilities of being a new mom and leading your Marketing Team?
I had my first child, Grayson, earlier this year! I knew when I came back from maternity leave, things would be a bit different for me personally. Luckily, the transition back to juggling my responsibilities was very smooth due to the support I had from everyone at CONTROLTEK. A month after coming back, we exhibited at one of our largest tradeshows of the year in Texas. I was able to bring Grayson (and a babysitter) along so that I could manage the show without having to be away from him for too long. I also got to introduce him to the CONTROLTEK team and some of our customers at the show. He made quite the impression. I think he may even have attracted a few new leads with his adorable smile!
What’s the favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is that I work for a company that encourages each employee to share their ideas, use their strengths, and make an impact every day. This type of freedom allows us to learn from one another and leads to more effective work.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by my team and all of the employees at CONTROLTEK. Everyone is positive and enthusiastic. As in any organization, we all have a lot of priorities, but we are all working toward the common goal of how we can deliver for our customers. I believe our tagline, Solutions that protect. People the deliver., authentically describes our workforce.
What’s the number one thing you’d like the world to know about CONTROLTEK?
No one at CONTROTLEK is resting on their laurels. We are all striving to be the best of the best for our customers and are always looking at how we can improve for our customers. We take time to evaluate our processes, solutions, and identify opportunities where we can expand, improve or deliver in a more innovative way.
