Inventory Security Solutions helps stores defend against shoplifting
How vulnerable is your business to shoplifting? It can happen frequently, and when losses mount, the effect on profits doesn’t need elaboration.
Habitual shoplifters steal an average of 1.6 times per week, according to the nonprofit National Association for Shoplifting Prevention (NASP). And extrapolated from bigger annual data, theft from retailers amounts to more than $35 million worth of goods per day.
Inventory Security Solutions (ISS) impedes this activity with its technology solutions (RF, AM or RFID), which include tags, overhead readers, pedestals, door systems, and other monitoring methods.
ISS offers not only nationwide installation services but also support.
“Shoplifters commonly steal from $2 to $200 per incident depending upon the type of store and item(s) chosen,” NASP reports.
It also found that shoplifters steal from all kinds of retailers: Department stores, specialty shops, supermarkets, drug stores, discounters, music stores, convenience stores, thrift shops, and more.
One in 11 people will shoplift, NASP calculates, and ISS says this underscores the need for a business to be protected.
Effectiveness of that protection obviously depends on the type and quantity of devices, ISS points out, citing its expanding arsenal of ways to thwart theft.
ISS systems provide more than loss-prevention; they also incorporate real-time tracking and replenishment data, thereby streamlining inventory management.
